    Apple Certified Refurbished Products

    (1) What are Apple Certified Refurbished Products?

    Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. While only some units are returned due to technical issues, every unit is evaluated to ensure it meets Apple's quality standards.

    Each Apple Certified Refurbished Product:

    • undergoes full functionality testing and any defective modules identified in testing are replaced.
    • Apple Watch and Apple Pencil devices that require replacement parts are not included in the Apple Certified Refurbished Program.
    • is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
    • is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes).
    • includes either the Operating System originally shipped with the unit or, in some cases, a more recent version.
    • is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock.

    Refurbishment procedures follow the same basic technical guidelines as Apple's Finished Goods testing procedures.

    (2) What should I expect when I purchase an Apple Certified Refurbished Product?

    • Substantial savings
    • A fully functional unit with complete documentation
    • The assurance that the unit meets Apple's premiere quality standards, and that its defective components have been replaced by genuine Apple components

    (3) Can I purchase the AppleCare plan for my Apple Certified Refurbished Product?

    All Apple Certified Refurbished Products are covered by a one-year limited warranty. For more coverage, you have the option of purchasing the AppleCare Plan with your Apple Certified Refurbished Product. The AppleCare Plan provides up to three years of world-class support for Mac, and up to two years of world-class support for iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePod.

    (4) A refurbished item that I wanted is no longer available. How can I ensure that I get an item when it's in stock?

    Refurbished supply is usually very limited and we often run out of refurbished inventory. We recommend that you act quickly if you see an item that you like. A product will be reserved for you once you've completed checking out and we've received full authorized payment. Please note that some payment methods take longer than others and that availability of a refurbished product is not guaranteed until we receive your full payment.

    § Service coverage is available only for covered devices and their original included accessories for protection against (i) defects in materials or workmanship, (ii) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity, and (iii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage. Accidental Damage means physical damage from handling due to unexpected and unintentional events. If an iPad is covered in your plan, one compatible Apple Pencil and one compatible Apple-branded iPad keyboard used with your iPad are also covered. AppleCare One is subject to eligibility rules; additions to plan may require inspection and a diagnostic check: Devices must be less than 4 years old and headphones must be less than 1 year old, and only devices in your Apple Account can be covered under AppleCare One. Limit of one (1) Apple Vision Pro can be covered under AppleCare One at a time. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements. There are no service fees for mechanical failures. Each incident of accidental damage protection is subject to a service fee plus applicable tax. If you have a plan with theft and loss coverage, each incident of theft or loss is subject to a deductible plus applicable tax.     For iPad, your plan covers one Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro and/or one Apple-branded iPad keyboard compatible with and used with a covered iPad for accidental damage and defects in material or workmanship under your plan.

    For Apple Watch, the band that is covered for accidental damage and defects in material or workmanship under your plan is the band that came in the same box as the covered Apple Watch. Apple Watch Hermès bands, other than the Hermès Sport Band supplied in the same box as the covered Apple Watch, are not covered. Any replacement band will be an Apple-branded band in a style, material, and color that is subject to Apple’s discretion.

    For Apple Vision Pro, the battery coverage applies only to the original battery included with the Apple Vision Pro and not to any additional batteries. Coverage does not include theft or loss of your device. AppleCare+ will not provide accidental damage protection for accessories not included in the original packaging or third-party accessories used with the Apple Vision Pro, including, but not limited to, prescribed or other corrective lenses.

    Theft and loss claims are for Apple Watch, iPhone, and iPad. Each claim is subject to a deductible. While the plan is active and in effect, claim limits reset every 12 months: two claims under AppleCare+ and three claims under AppleCare One.

    Theft and loss coverage requires you to have Find My enabled on your device at the time it is lost or stolen. Find My should remain enabled and your device should remain associated with your Apple Account throughout the theft or loss claim process. During the theft or loss claims process, you will be asked to erase your missing device, disable it, and transfer ownership before you can be issued a new device. After initiating your theft or loss claim with Apple, you will be asked to finalize your claim on AIG’s website at www.aigtheftandloss.com.

    International replacement of lost or stolen devices is subject to availability and options may vary by region, device, and model. Same-day replacement is not available for theft and loss claims.

    Theft and loss coverage does not apply to an Apple Pencil or Apple-branded keyboard even if lost or stolen with a covered iPad. For any covered Apple Watch theft or loss incidents, including those involving Nike and Hermès watch bands, the replacement band will be an Apple-branded band, which may differ in band style, material, and/or color from the band lost with the covered Apple Watch, subject to Apple’s discretion. Theft or loss claims cannot be made for watch bands only; bands are covered only when the Apple Watch is lost or stolen.

    Express Replacement Service (“ERS”) is subject to availability, capability, and local law at the time you seek service. ERS for Hardware Coverage for Accidental Damage to the Covered Equipment (excluding Included Accessories) is always subject to the Other Accidental Damage service fee and not the Screen-Only or Back Glass-Only service fees. If your device is replaced with Express Replacement Service, the original product becomes Apple’s property. The replacement product is your property and becomes the Covered Equipment. You are responsible for backing up all software programs, data, and passwords residing on your original device.

    The service fee for accidental damage is $29. Separate service charges apply to each repair or replacement performed. Applicable taxes may apply.     AppleCare plans are separate from and in addition to the Apple Limited Warranty and any legal rights provided by consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.     AppleCare One is a device protection program that provides combined benefits under AppleCare One and a theft, loss, and surge protection insurance policy.     2. Spatial Audio works with compatible content in supported apps on HomePod (2nd generation) and HomePod (1st generation). Not all content is available in Dolby Atmos. Requires Apple TV 4K. Apple TV 4K sold separately.

    3. Requires multiple HomePod speakers or AirPlay-compatible speakers with the latest AirPlay software.

    4. Creating a HomePod stereo pair requires two of the same model HomePod speakers, such as two HomePod mini, two HomePod (2nd generation), or two HomePod (1st generation).

    5. A subscription is required for Apple Music.

    6. A subscription may be required for music streaming services.

    7. Sound Recognition may detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm sounds and send you notifications when recognized. Sound Recognition should not be relied upon in circumstances where you may be harmed or injured, or in high-risk or emergency situations. Sound Recognition requires the updated Home architecture, which will be available as a separate update in the Home app. It requires all Apple devices that access the home to be using the latest software.

    8. Temperature and humidity sensing is optimized for indoor, domestic settings, when ambient temperatures are around 15º C to 30º C and relative humidity is around 30% to 70%. Accuracy may decrease in some situations where audio is playing for an extended period of time at high volume levels. HomePod requires some time to calibrate the sensors immediately after starting up before results are displayed.

    9. Peer-to-peer AirPlay requires a Mac (2012 or later) with OS X Yosemite or later, or an iOS device (late 2012 or later) with iOS 8 or later.

    10. Compatible with HomeKit- or Matter-enabled Thread accessories only. Thread-based accessories require a Thread-enabled home hub, such as Apple TV 4K, HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini, or a third-party Thread border router.

    11. Requires a U1‑equipped iPhone running iOS 16.2 or later.

Apple’s Regulated Substances Specification describes Apple’s restrictions on the use of certain chemical substances in materials in Apple products, accessories, manufacturing processes, and packaging used for shipping products to Apple’s end-customers. Restrictions are derived from international laws or directives, regulatory agencies, eco-label requirements, environmental standards, and Apple policies. Every Apple product is free of PVC and phthalates except for AC power cords in India, Thailand (for two-prong AC power cords), and South Korea, where we continue to seek government approval for our PVC and phthalates replacement. Apple products comply with the European Union Directive 2011/65/EU and its amendments, including exemptions for the use of lead such as high-temperature solder. Apple is working to phase out the use of these exempted substances for new products where technically possible.
